Sweep
“Sweep has always been a very active and outgoing dog. When we take him out for a walk either up on the Downs or to the park, he always gives 100%, but when he's at home around the house he is very cool and calm (and also a sock thief).
Then, one weekend Sweep was in a different mood that we had not seen him in before. He was extremely quiet and hardly wanted to move. He also had bad diarrhoea and wasn't keen on eating his food. It got to the early hours of Monday morning and I decided to take him in to Grove Lodge. The staff there admitted him straight away as he was dehydrated and looked to be uncomfortable.
Early the next day we had a call saying that they were going to operate on Sweep's intestine. We were told he had severe gastroenteritis, which we suspect he picked up from a puddle he stops to drink in at the park every day.
Sweep
We received updates day and night after Sweep's operation and in almost every call we were told not to get our hopes up. Everyone feared that he might not be coming home due to the severity of his illness. The news wasn't any better by Thursday and he still wasn't recovering as much as we all hoped, but then, on Saturday, we were told he had really turned a corner and was going to have a wash and a walk!
We collected Sweep on the Monday, one week after he first arrived. The vets were very happy to see him leaving. We would like to thank everyone at Grove Lodge who looked after Sweep during his stay and helped him recover from this nasty illness."
