Julia Martin
Member of the HPC Chartered Animal Physiotherapist, Category A Member ACPAT
Julia Martin qualified as a chartered and state registered physiotherapist in 1980. Since 1985, she has been a Category A Member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy.
Julia provides physiotherapy for dogs and cats in association with the veterinary team, treating animals at either Grove Lodge Hospital (or local surgery) or at home.
Typical areas of treatment include orthopaedic and neurological conditions, including spinal conditions, joint problems, soft tissue injuries, sports injuries, pre- and post-op cases, arthritic lameness problems (including the older and/or over-weight animal) and treatment of associated behavioural or temperament problems. She also sees neurological conditions including spinal cord trauma or disease and nerve trauma.
Julia’s treatment skills cover an extremely comprehensive range of manual and electro-therapy techniques. In all treatment sessions Julia includes advice on exercise, rehabilitation, home management and handling techniques.
